Meet our fabulous staff!

Crystal - Hospital Manager


Crystal graduated North Carolina State University in 2010 and moved to Florida in 2012, still not adjusted to the heat. She started working at Best Friends Animal Hospital as a full time veterinary technician in August of 2012. In early 2017, she became our lead technician and later in the year became the hospital manager.

Crystal enjoys traveling to see her family in North Caroline and spending her extra time cuddling with her five fur-babies, Finley, Paislee, Penelope, Chance, and Sky.



Briana started as the kennel technician at Best Friends Animal Hospital in 2010. She was enrolled in the veterinary assisting program at South Fort Myers High School. Briana quickly moved up the vine to be known as one of our senior technicians. She helps care for her family’s five fur-babies, two cats, Kiki and Lelly, and three dogs, Jessie, Beni, and Chooey. She enjoys spending time with her family, shopping, and playing her banjo in her free time. She truly loves large animals, cows in particular. She is attending Florida South Western State University obtaining her degree in business management.



Chelsea is a full-time technician and joined our family in 2015. She moved to Florida in 2015, from Michigan. She graduated from Sanford-Brown College for Veterinary Technology. Chelsea loves spending time with her husband, son, and three loving fur-babies; Chubbs, Dixie, and Bailey.



Cortnee moved to Florida, from Colorado, in 2004 with her family. She started interning at Best Friends in 2010 with her sister Briana. In 2011, she was hired as one of the kennel technicians. Cortnee is now a full time senior veterinary technician that enjoys surgery and dentistry. She and her sister, Briana, look a lot alike and can be confused as twins. She also helps care for her family’s five fur-babies, Beni, Chooey, Jessie, Kiki, and Lelly. She is attending Florida South Western State University to obtain a degree in business management with dreams of owning her own veterinary clinic one day.


Kristin joined the Best Friends family originally in 2014 and sadly moved away. Once she got the word she was moving back to Fort Myers, we were so excited to welcome her back. She is now one of our part-time veterinary technicians and loves being in surgery. She resides here in Lehigh Acres with her husband, son, and daughter. She has a cat named Java, a dog named Zoey, and a corn snake named Cinder.



Cade began interning with Best Friends through the South Fort Myers High School Veterinary assisting program. He showed eagerness and passion for the veterinary field and joined our team as one of our kennel technicians. He is a senior at South Fort Myers High and plans to attend Florida Gulf Coast University after graduating. He has a yellow Labrador retriever named, Apollo.



Amy is currently enrolled at Keiser University, intending to graduate in February of 2018. She will be graduating with her degree in Health Service Management. Amy has been a customer service representative for over 18 years. She is one of our receptionists and has been with Best Friends Animal Hospital since 2016. She moved to Florida from Pennsylvania and enjoys traveling home to visit her daughter and son. She also enjoys the country lifestyle, especially horses. Working in the small animal veterinary field, she absolutely loves Shih-Tzu’s.



Kellie is a junior at Florida Gulf Coast University, studying Biology. She has aspirations of going to veterinary school once completing her undergrad. She plays for the university’s beach volleyball team. She has two pets, a cat named Smokey, and a black Labrador named Grace. Kellie is our kennel technician and joined Best Friends Animal Hospital in 2017.



Penny moved to Florida in 2015, from Connecticut. Penny lives with her 2 dogs, Tia and Colby. She joined Best Friends Animal Hospital in 2015, as our groomer. She has been a groomer for about 30 years. In her free time, Penny enjoys traveling to Connecticut to visit her daughter and granddaughter.



Buddy is our great fearless, feline leader. Buddy came to live with us in 2015 after his father passed away. He keeps his staff in a hard-working, loving environment. He enjoys his greenie treats at promptly 11:30 am and continues to remind his staff daily that maybe we should give them earlier. He is our 16 year old hospital house cat and enjoys his laid back lifestyle.
